Festivals are not just for teenagers and adults who want to see the latest bands in a field! Family festivals are on the rise too and a great way for young families especially to enjoy ‘time out’ at organised, children-focused events that the whole family can enjoy.
Our top pick for 2018 is the CBBC Summer Social. This festival is a jam-packed, family festival extravaganza taking place across three days in August [3rd-5th] in Croxteth Park.
At the festival you can join in the fun with all your favourite CBBC and CBeebies faces and enjoy stunning performances from musical stars like Union J, HRVY, Johnny Orlando and Mackenzie Ziegler.
The line-up will showcase the very best CBBC shows including The Next Step, Deadly 60 and Saturday Mash-Up! and include appearances from CBBC stars including Hacker T Dog, Sam and Mark, Naomi Wilkinson and Ben Shires.
For the younger fans, CBeebies’ favourite, Mr Tumble will be on site along with a CBeebies Village packed with enticing activities and performances. Swashbuckle’s Cook and Line will be causing mayhem, you can go wild with Andy Day, discuss pets with Fern and Rory from Vet’s Tales, have a boogie at the groovy Go Jetters disco and even listen to a Bedtime Story or two.
If that isn’t enough excitement for your family there’ll be specially-curated showcases from world-class orchestras, West End musicals and up and coming international music sensations Johnny Orlando and MacKenzie Ziegler performing their only UK gigs this year.
You’ll also have the opportunity to visit a huge range of outdoor and indoor activities such as the BBC Introducing and Liverpool Academy live performance stages. You can get involved in all the imaginative and immersive activity zones, theatre shows and creative workshops which will be dotted around the historic Croxteth Country Park.
Explore the Petting Farm, the Victorian Walled Garden and the Grade II listed Croxteth Hall which all form a fabulous backdrop to the very best of CBBC and CBeebies entertainment.
